Expanding Your Radical Imagination For Collective Liberation
A workshop next week on the Winter Solstice!
Hello dearest humans!
If you’re still here, thank you. This year has been a long grueling year but nothing has been clearer to me than the fact that we need more access to r(e)volutionary material than we’ve ever had or needed before—and the masses must have access to this information, too! We must be in dialogue together, we must work together.
This is partially why I write. As a CSA survivor, and as someone who has experienced so much trauma and abuse from a young age, I feel equipped to share what I’ve been learning for much of my life. As the daughter of two genocide survivors, I also know what it means to heal very, very deep ancestral trauma. I believe this is part of the r(e)volutionary work we are being called to do right now - to heal ourselves.
Never forget: We cannot heal others or the planet if we don’t heal ourselves.
So many of us are disconnected from ourselves and thus others, the land, God, but this doesn’t have to be the only way. Not only is there another path, but we can be in community as we move towards these new visions and understandings of ourselves as a species sharing this planet with so many other beings.
I look around and see what is lacking — many of us can’t understand utopia because we have never felt it ourselves but my r(e0volutionary praxis is that I believe it is possible to be free and to be liberated and my entire life is a journey of understanding that. Everything I’ve ever written (whether it be How To Cure A Ghost, Like A Bird, Who Is Wellness For?) has been so to provide people with a template for healing. It’s possible, and if it really is, what does that mean for you, for us?
In order to not die, I had to decide on life. Every day, I choose life. I alchemize my grief toward something bigger and brighter than myself. I’ve had to do a lot of work to get here, but this is my life’s work, so I’m grateful for it.
How can we learn to humble ourselves and slow down so we can dream of a better world for all of us, together? This is what this class will be about.
It’s my hope to keep teaching this class so I can do this work to sit with you all and help you, us, envision this world together.
Details of the class are:
9 am - 12 pm PST on the 21st of December (so exactly a week from now)
Sliding scale $44 for Black, Indigenous and Palestinian folks/ as well as CSA survivors, working-class or disabled folks.
