Hello everyoneeeeeeee,
I’m feeling a lot of love today.
I just finished teaching a solstice writing class and I feel very held by the experience. I love all my readers ᵕ̈ thank you for this community that surrounds me and my work. I am so grateful I get to write and share my skills with people who value me and what I have to offer. It never stops being a moving reiteration and an integral reflection for me… that really keeps me going, dear reader.
Most people don’t know that I’m quite an awkward person. I don’t go out a lot… I have my friends, but outside of those bounds, you most likely won’t see me out on the street. A lot of that is because people give me anxiety, lol. But writing… writing is where I am safe. This is why any community I have built around writing, especially via those who read this newsletter, means a lot to me when so much of the world can feel isolating, confusing, and terrifying.
Some of you have reached out to me from India, Spain, Sudan, Pakistan, Germany, and New Zealand — and I feel honored to have amassed such a global and interesting crowd of readers, thank you for being here. I’m continually humbled whenever I meet any of you on the street or at a book event or even through these classes I teach, and it means so much to me that I can do this, that I can share myself with you in this way.
I’m writing today because my fifth book comes out in one month and I’d love your support. This is the first book since How To Cure A Ghost that has a worldwide release, so this means that this book will be available to buy worldwide (!!!)
So how can you support me? You can order Survival Takes A Wild Imagination from your (local) favorite bookstore. Down below are some direct links to places that are selling Survival, but if there’s a bookstore you go to that doesn’t have it yet, you can just ask them to order some copies to pre-order internally. You can also encourage your local library to buy a few copies and pre-order as well!

UK
France
Australia
Canada
The other way you can support me is by bringing me to your cities to speak. Touring is such an important part of getting my work out there and I’m hungry for opportunities to travel and speak about my work and meet new people.
I’m really proud of this book, and it’s generally quite hard for me to arrive at any positive feelings toward my own work, but I’m hungry to speak about this book and to speak these poems into existence. I’m aching to share this with the world as it’s such an honest reflection of where I’ve arrived through the tumult of (my life &) the past few years.
If you work at a university, museum, library, or institution — anywhere you can bring me to speak, please be in touch! If you’d like to interview me or write about this book, please be in touch. I feel more prepared to put this book out there than I have ever felt prepared for anything in my life! What an odd but distinct feeling, five books in.
All help and support are appreciated, I look forward to knowing what you think of this book. Please share this book, buy this book for your lovers and friends, read it in book clubs, write to me about your favorite passages, lines and moments.
With eternal devotion,
fariha
